So yesterday I got a bit of Vassal on against Dash's Henchmen List. I had originally asked him what he thought of an all foot GK list. He laughed and told me I'd get shot to pieces and then proceeded to shoot me down so that our game ended 8-1 on KP's. Granted his army is a hard counter to what I was running but at the same time I shouldn't have a hard counter against any of my lists so I needed to tweak it. The list I ran yesterday looked like this:
2xMalleus in TA w/Psycannon
1x10 Purifiers w/4 Psycannons, 6 Halberds
2x5 Purifiers w/2 Psycannons, 3 Halberds
5x10 Strikes w/2 Psycannons, Hammer, Psybolt Ammo
72 Models w/20 Psycannons and 80 St5 Bolter Shots a turn.
But I ran into this hard counter in Dash's list:
Coteaz
Librarian w/Shrouding (maybe other stuff)
Venerable Psyfle Dread
Vindicare
5x7 Psykers, 2 Jokero, Chimera
3xPsyfle Dread
You can see how this would be a problem. I suffer from not being able to deepstrike to close (Coteaz) while at the same time going yard isn't an option due to the range of my models. Add in that the only save's I'll get is from cover and you're looking at a bad situation. However I still love the concept so here is the next generation of a boots on the ground list:
Malleus in TA w/Psycannon
5x10 Strikes w/2 Psycannons, Hammer, Psybolt Ammo
2x5 Interceptors w/Hammer
3xNaked Dreadknight
So I basically gave up my Purifiers for the Dreadknight's and Interceptors. I lose some of my ranged shooting but exchange it for some more speed and resiliency. I'm thinking I'll still be tweaking this later on but it's my new starting point. One tweak I'm already considering looking at this is dropping one Strike Squad and downgrading the Inquisitor to bump both interceptor squads to 10 w/psybolt ammo and cannons.
I definitely in love with the idea of running 50-60 PA GK's with proper support. But I'm thinking it'll have quite a bit in common with my Nids. The difference being I'm not closing to combat range but I will need to close into range of my firepower. Same principle applies as with Nids in that you'll need early and consistant threats. So that is the direction I'm currently taking. Thoughts?

On to your army list-your really relying on STR 7 rending to punch through AV 14, 1 game of bad rolls is almost a loss.
Dread knights are cool, but are they really that good? Then you also have the JooWW problem unless JoWW is a psy shooting attack and has to roll to hit 1st befor laying down the line (see many other site arguements on this).

Newtoncain, I had one Jokero unit with +12" range. A couple with rending. Rending is almost pointless since my psykers are AP1, and my lascannons and multi-meltas are AP1. Best I can get from that is rending heavy flamers, and if I'm using them....I have larger issues.
He has some hammers scattered around in there. Whether its enough or not...*shrug*
Hulksmash: When I first started my Orks, some of my unit selections got laughed at, but I've never been a believer in popular wisdom. My Necron Tactica has two pages of "OMG your army sucks" before I even got to finish writing it. Popular wisdom says that Dread Knights aren't very good. On the flip side, I'd put money on you against popular wisdom any day of the week on the tabletop. But at least consider it.
In terms of a hard counter to your list, I think a lot of Grey Knight lists might give you issues with all the warp quakes keeping you from deep-striking nearby - and other heavy shooting armies. This feels like the one iteration of Grey Knights that daemons don't have to be scared of. They can deep-strike safely away from you and cross the board to get into assault without too much effort. Mech IG, las/plas spam BA with some Baal Predators, Las/plas Space Wolf Razorfang spam. I think that Dark Eldar might be able to alpha-strike you hard enough to negate any counter-punch - 12" move, disembark, 18" blasters...and you're going to shoot the crap out of the unit or the vehicle, both of which are threats to you.

Sidenote Lascannons are AP2 :)
Regarding your thoughts on Hard counters I don't think you really understand how the list works. Deepstrike will only really be used against armies that don't have to leave their deployment zone based on the mission or build (i.e. gunlines in KP missions). Every other army has to come out to play, especially other GK's, so I'm not worried about the range or deepstrike on those games.

Regarding DE that's always going to be a terror for a force on foot but I think, depending on the mission, that this would be one of those great times to combat squad to increase the number of damage dealing units I have to use again them. I'm willing to admit a well played DE army is a bit of a fear of mine with this list.
As for all those mech armies you named they are based on quality of firepower vs. quantity (unlike DE) which I'm far less afraid of when I'm running 60-70 feet on the ground with all the cover that is out there. But it could be another we'll see kind of moment. Though Baal's with Flamestorms are scary, but I've seen those exactly once in the last 6 months.

Speaking of which, I think If you are DS'ing against that list, you are basically playing into his strategy. You are clumping your guys so that he can wipe them off the board with large blasts.
