Who Needs Mech? All Jump BA’s

Well I was reading the Battle Reports section of DakkaDakka because sometimes there are some people that use a trick or an idea that I haven't seen before and I noticed an all jumper BA army. Now it wasn't really something I'd go gaga over but it got me thinking about how I would run such an army and so I sat down with my laptop while the newest and god awful Lost Boys movie was on. Now I have to explain why that movie was on. See sometimes a joke can go too far and it winds up on your Blockbuster que. Then you forget about it until it shows up one day and that morbid curiosity of how bad can it be comes over you even though the answer 99% of the time is bloody awful. Well now that that's cleared up we can move onto the list.

There are 5pts left you can put somewhere like melta bombs or slight adjustments throughout. I like it because it's almost 60 Space Marine models that all have jump packs and the majority should have Feel No Pain. It's fast and has anti-mech in spades. The sheer weight of shots should enable you to put a hurting on the new dark elder paper airplanes and the sheer number of infantry models will make a mockery of most of the enemy anti-tank weapons. The Sanguinary Guard units are for hunting units like Long Fangs and add a form of shock troop to the list. I'm actually tempted to give them plasma pistols for the increased range that they provide. The Vanguard are obviously there to land and tie up infantry units or hopefully stun some deadly stuff early. This list should perform well against the majority of SW and IG armies out there. With DoA it should also be a major threat for Dark Eldar as well and the only true worry I see from an army like this is a well built Tyranid army but how many of those do you see running around J? With Orks you might be in trouble against a dual Nob Biker list but those are getting more rare these days. You'll still have to be careful against even a single unit as poor unit placement or maneuvering can lose you the game.

On deployment notes I'd say 99% of the time start in pure reserve. Depending on what your Vanguard are going after I'd recommend placing a Priest with one. The Libby should go with the Sanguinary Guard to get them a 5+ invul and the last standard priest should probably join a standard Assault Marine unit. Don't get to crazy with your deep strikes but be sure to still play aggressive as being a defensive player with this army will only allow your opponent to start acting instead of reacting to you.

All jumper armies are a blast to play. All I'd do is drop 1 unit of VV to outfit the other with a couple storm shields to make them into a passable anvil unit and maybe pick up another Priest to ensure you've got FNP/FC where you need it.
