Ard Boyz - Grey Knights Take 2!


After looking over my models and seeing what I had I think I like this a little more. It’s a tweak on the old list. Enjoy!

Total: 2,497

So it has 6 less models than the last list but it adds a lot more firepower. Granted the odds are pretty good I won’t be getting out of the transports unless I have to but now a few of the models have a 4+ save and can start shooting the next turn assuming they don’t pin or break. It also allowed me to free up the points for 2 servo skulls which will matter to keep pesky infiltrators away from me. I like it. The other option for the henchmen regarding survivability would be to take 3-man squads w/2 Arco-Flagellants and 1 Warrior acolyte. This would give me the ability to go to ground and have a 3+ and 4+ saves against incoming fire. But I’m not sure it wouldn’t be better to have more bodies. Thoughts?

DO you really have 12 servitor models WYSWIG?

I like the other list better.

I do in fact have 12 human models armed with the appropriate weapons :)

I don't like the psybacks with the MM henchman. Maybe Rhino's there instead. Save some points and use else where. Um..Where is your grandmaster going to go? Maybe get a Chimera instead.
So you have six units with servitors that are mindless, but only one babysitter.
I think it's to much of a gamble...

And is the Grand Master on his own?
Perhaps switch a Razor for a Chimera?

I agree that the servitors are a gamble but they have the possibility of adding something to the list when their transport dies instead of just hunkering down (which they can also do). Basically I give up a body for a 4+ chance to do some ranged damage once my vehicle is toasted. Let's face it, the acolytes aren't getting out unless they have to anyway due to how important scoring is in this event.

I do think I'll make a slight tweak and put in a single chimera and up one of the servitor squads to 3 MM's. Then Coatz and the GM can ride with them making an impressive target that might help take some shots off the rest of my army. Plus it's a slight answer to LR's which may or may not be needed.
While cheap, Purgations are too niche. You need psyfleman dreads. Also, consider freeing up some points for halberd and hammers on purifiers (or just halberd at least).

Because it makes life a hell of a lot easier in tournies, where the majority of armies are meched up in one way or another.
But at Ard Boyz you have a tendency to lose them extremely fast. Basically for 50 extra points I've got 4 shots with 1 less strength and added 4 st6 flamers. I think it's a worthwhile trade. Probably personal preference but when you go up against 30ish Missile Launchers (like my Loganwing) it's not a good idea rely on the dreads for fire support. It also helps screw with target priority :)
