Sparked My Interest - 1850 Tyranids

Yesterdays article really got me thinking about my Tyranids. Now I'm in the process of replacing my converted Hive Guard with the actual models now that they are Fine Cast. I've slightly tweaked my list from last year to something a little more shooty to help deal with GK's since I don't want to be fighting them in CC to often. Here is one of the options I'm considering:

HQ

Prime - 90
Dual Boneswords

Prime - 90
Dual Boneswords

Elite

2 Hive Guard - 100
2 Hive Guard - 100
2 Hive Guard - 100

Troop

15 Genestealers - 210

15 Genestealers - 210

14 Termagants - 140
Devourers

10 Termagants - 50

Tervigon - 190
Catalyst, Onslaught

Tervigon - 190
Catalyst, Onslaught

Heavy Support

Carnifex - 190
2xDual Devourers

Carnifex - 190
2xDual Devourers

This is a slight tweak on a list that did very well last year at Adepticon and locally. It's got more shooting than the previous list and I've added Onslaught to help deal with Dark Eldar lists by increasing my range on my shooters. This is one of two lists I'm considering running when not running my Necrons after I pull down an Invitational Spot. Yeah, I've jinxed myself for this year by calling it before it happened, hehe.

How do you like the Devourers on the 'Gants? I was considering the same thing on my Bugs!, but I'm having a hard time doubling the points!

Obviously you think it's worthwhile - what are your thoughts?

Devourers are simply ridiculous. A 10-man squad puts out 30 shots. Granted this will only likely kill 2ish marines. But the real winner is the negative leadership modifier as well. They are considered a relatively low threat unit due to the Genestealers and allow you to not worry so much about using the MC Dev's to kill troops. You can instead aim for transports and have the little bugs blast the dudes that fall out.

Overall I prefer models that can do something over the course of the game. I can produce screeners and blockers from the Tervi's. So of my units I bring initially I prefer to bring units that can hit. If I had 10 more points I could find you'd see me fielding 2 squads of 10 Dev Gaunts.
That is a similar list to what I was using, but I changed one carnifex to a Tyrant and took the prime to a guard, but mostly the same function. I like it.
