Blog Update!

Sorry guys about the lack of posting lately. Dash is a little burnt out so that's knocked him a bit and for me...well....

This happened:

Between this and work I'm kinda on hiatus this week. It's 900pgs of awesome that I've been waiting for for a decade now (yeah, Feast of Crows doesn't count cause it didn't have Tyrion, Jon, or Daeny!) so I'm gonna be a bit busy. Add in the fact that work got a little crazy and you won't see that batrep till the weekend or early next week along with some other articles I'll start working on when I finish. Lot's of stuff regarding Nova and the Invitational :)

I'm waiting on my book to arrive from Borders now...anxiously. I probably should have re-read all the previous ones so I could remember what the hell is going on for this one.

I boycotted buying his book. Too many years of promissing and not delievering (working on wild cards didn't help either). Plus I 'd need to re-read the 1st 4 just to remember.

I was inches away from doing the same thing but in the end it's a book that basically ignores all the characters I dislike for the majority of the book and whether I hate the guy or not it's a great series. I think the show will be a good thing for him since he'll have to write if he wants to keep making money off of that as well. Fingers crossed the unhealthy bastard doesn't fall over dead, but then maybe Brian Sanderson could get the rights and finsih it for him (His new fantasy series is already amazing!). Either way I'm curious how it's going to end in just 2-3 more books after all the build-up from the first 4. I'm hoping he doesn't puss out. We'll see.

I'll probably get around to buying the paper back in 2 years. I can't wait for the HBO serries to come out on DVD = then I can watch it.

I got suckered into paying for HBO. Between my love of this series and wanting to share it with the wife in a form she could tolerate and her love of that damned True Blood series it was a lost cause to keep that off my cable bill. Oh well, it was worth it!

I will be very curious as to what you think of the book, and of the series in general (I have read all of the books except this one).

I'm starting to feel like the story isn't progressing. In 11 years we're pretty much at the same point we were at before he wrote the last 2. I was actually very, very meh about it. I found the other 2 new books I read this month were much more fun. Jim Butcher's Dresden novel Ghost Story and Simon Greene's For Heavens Eyes Only.
