Grey Knight Armored Spearhead - 1850

I’ve been on a bit of a Land Raider kick lately. I’ve been pondering tons of lists featuring 3+ Land Raiders since I think they’d be fun. I blame a fella at a local event this weekend who mentioned the 5 Land Raider Blood Angel list for getting my mind going down this road. Anywho:

1,850 on the nose.

So this list has a few things going for it. It’s got six scoring unit and nine vehicles. Of the nine vehicles three are Land Raiders with plenty of anti-tank that can pretty much ignore anything short of being exploded. You’ve got the extra Psycannon bunkers in the form of the Purifiers in Rhinos and then some supporting strength 6 firepower from the small henchmen squads. Also in a pinch the 3 units in the Land Raiders could do some nice damage to MEQ squads or even terminator units outside of cover. Overall I think it’s a pretty solid list.

Thoughts?

Nice. Not sure I like the psybolt ammo, but besides that looks fun!.

It's only 5pts per tank for St6. It's not 20 like on the Storm Raven so I think it's worth it :)

On the landraiders. Sorry for not clarifying
I think that is a really cool approach to the GK acolyte list. The purifier bunkers are great for midfield and just about everything is a priority target. Gotta love the triple LR.
How many Dreadnoughts to you miss out on with those 3 Land Raiders? I'm not feeling it.

Ooooo, Math!!!! 4 (3 Regulars and 1 Venerable). But seriously it's a list that doesn't need the Dreads, that score, keep nasty cc units inside, and that has a massive edge in survivability. It's cool to not feel thought. Just a neat option I thought I'd throw up there :)

Make one LR a LRC.

Why a LRC? Normally a LRC is for additional anti-infantry firepower but this list doesn't really need it. It needs the anti-tank I think that a Standard LR gives you. What do you see a LRC bringing to the list?
Just fielded a 1500 point vanilla marine list at a tournament this weekend that had 2 LRC in it. It did pretty decent. My failures were due to some truely awful rolling. I literally want to melt my dice down at this point. :P

My scouting dominions say thank you for the high value targets. :)
Hulksmash, didn't you just finish posting a blog about how codex creep isn't legitimate?

Anyone mind doing a comparison on Purifiers and Incubi for me? It's not quite adding up here...

I did indeed.

How is that relevant? Purifiers and Incubi have different roles in armies that play completely differently. Outside of them both being Elites what do they have in common? It'd be like comparing grotesques & crisis suits.....
Well, they're both Elite units. They both have a 3+ armor save. They're approximately the same point cost (22 vs. 24 points). They both have S4 power weapons.

Now add on the fact that purifiers get instant death weapons, cleansing flame, hammerhand, more and better upgrade options, krak and psyk-out grenades, storm bolters and the ability to purchase a 2+ invuln save for the unit...

I can't conceive of how you could possibly think that this isn't codex creep. It boggles my mind that you would just look past this.
I think your purifers could do with a hammer per squad, they are def your throw away squads (instead of pusing with troops), so could come in handy
