Adepticon-Daemon List #2

So another list I’ve been considering. Damn Nick (Yermom) for constantly getting me re-excited (yeah, I made it up) about Daemons anyway. Now I’m not a huge fan of Fateweaver so I don’t think he’ll ever make an appearance in my lists but I’ve been thinking of some slight tweaks I could do that might work out. This is what I’ve come up with for it so far.

HQ
Bloodthirster-270
Unholy Might

Herald of Slaanesh-65
Chariot

Herald of Slaanesh-65
Chariot

Elite
5 Bloodcrushers-240
Standard, Musician, Rending

5 Bloodcrushers-240
Standard, Musician, Rending

5 Fiends-150

Troops
5 Horrors-95
Bolt

5 Horrors-95
Bolt

5 Plague Bearers-75

Heavy Support
Daemon Prince-160
Gaze, Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt

Daemon Prince-160
Gaze, Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt

Daemon Prince-160
Gaze, Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt

So this is a little different from my last list. The key changes were the changes to the Heralds. I tried to find the 20pts to give them both Unholy Might but it just wasn’t possible unless I wanted to drop a gaze from the princes. I added an extra DP to make up for the losses of the Tzeentch Heralds. Basically losing a bolt/gaze but gaining accuracy and CC power. Overall it’ll play a little more aggressively than the other list but I think it will run pretty sweet. Thoughts?

Hey Hulk it's Nick

If it's any consilation your week of tyranid list posting got me all wroked up with tyranids lol.

But I really like your list, looks pretty solid watch out for tournaments with VP's bloodthirster rolls over and dies and gives up a ton.

Hey Nick, love the name :)

And yeah, it does make me feel better. Every damn time I read one of your lists or batreps I think maybe I can tweak my Daemons a little more! I just hate being on the top table and watching my scatter/reserve rolls beat me. It's happened in 3 tournies now including Nova and a GT out this way.

Glad I make you think about Nids. I go back and forth right now on them. In all honesty they are probably going to be my tourney armies next year if I can ever find the time to finish the repaint on my bugs....

ok, so my proposed daemon list is a vast departure from your current one, and it does include fateweaver, so I dunno if it's possible for you to use it, but I've had success with it and try to proselytize it at every possible opportunity.

Fateweaver - 333
Skarbrand - 300

6x Fiends w/ Might - 190
6x Fiends w/ Might - 190
6x Fiends w/ Might - 190

6x Screamers - 96
6x Screamers - 96
6x Screamers - 96

6x Deamonettes w/icon - 109
6x Deamonettes w/icon - 109
5x Deamonettes - 70
5x Deamonettes - 70
5x Deamonettes - 70
5x Deamonettes - 70
total - 1989 (could do either gaze or instrument on some deamonette units, flavor as you want)

Fateweaver makes everything survivable, but the real trick is Skarbrand. He turns already good fiends into absolute wrecking balls, averaging 27 hits on the charge. He makes the deamonettes into surprisingly effective units, at I6 they're looking at 15 hits on the charge. Both of the above rend, so you can throw them at transports and can open them. The really surprising things is how good he makes screamers. Even if they're only hitting on 6s, you're still looking at 2-3 hits on the charge against fast moving vehicles, and 2-3 meltas vs. rear armor is awesome.

Split is: 2 HQs, 3 Screamers, Icon Deamonettes, Naked Deamonettes (preferred), and 3 Fiends, remaining 4 deamonettes (less preferred). The good half comes in and can-opens, the bad half follows up and wipes out whatever's left. If you get unlucky and the bad half comes in it's made up of fleet infantry and beasts, so you can hang back a bit and still get up in people's faces late.

Every unit can move quickly, kill transports and murder infantry. People have to shoot fateweaver first, but since it's skarbrand that makes the list work you're basically just buying him the 1 turn he needs to get stuck in.

Anyway, proselytizing over, g'luck in the tourney.
